Juniors Learn To Row Camp
We offer a 6-week weekly Learn-to-Row summer program for ages 13–18. This program is designed for juniors with no prior rowing experience or for those looking for a refresher. We focus on basic technique, teamwork, boat-handling, and water safety in a calm and supportive environment.
Dates: July 14th – August 23rd, 2025
Session Days: Monday-Friday
Time: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Location: Jane Browne Bove Boathouse, Marina del Rey, CA
Age Group: 13–18
What to Expect
- Learn the fundamentals of rowing
- Practice on rowing machines (ergometers) and water
- Learn the rowing stroke, balancing the boat, commands, and safety protocol
- Row in both sweep and sculling boats with experienced coaches
Program Requirements
- Must be at least 13 years old
- Be able to stay afloat in water for 10 minutes
- Be able to lift and carry 30 lbs overhead (with coaching assistance)
- Complete liability waiver before attending

What to Bring
- Tight-fitting athletic clothing (no baggy shorts or sweats)
- Sneakers for indoor work / Flip flops or Crocs for walking to the water
- Socks (required for boat shoes)
- Water bottle
- Sunscreen
Visitors, parents, or friends are welcome to observe a session, but must inform coaches in advance.
