About Us
BUILDING LA'S ROWING FUTURE
From the Jane Browne Bove Boathouse in Marina del Rey, in partnership with Loyola Marymount University, we're building the rowing hub Los Angeles has never had.

OUR STORY

Founded by Simon Hoadley — 30 years of international coaching across New Zealand, Australia, and the US — and Dominic Pardini, a UCLA rowing captain and CEO of CrewLAB.
CrewLAB is the official coaching platform for USRowing, Rowing New Zealand, and USA Swimming. Our athletes get the same tools used by national teams worldwide.
We teach not just rowing— but teamwork, confidence, and discipline on and off the water.
y 2028, LA Lions aims to be the central rowing hub in Los Angeles — 300+ athletes across programs, Olympic team development, and a pathway from learn-to-row through national selection.
Our Mission
Our mission is to make world-class rowing accessible to every athlete in Los Angeles — from first-time paddlers to Olympic hopefuls.
We believe in coaching with science, structure, and the conviction that young athletes rise to the standard you set for them.
UNIVERSITY PARTNERSHIP
LA Lions operates from the LMU boathouse — university-grade facilities on Marina del Rey since 1966.
SCIENCE-BASED COACHING
Powered by CrewLAB. Every stroke measured, every session purposeful, every athlete improving.
OLYMPIC PATHWAY
Long Beach Marine Stadium hosts rowing in 2028 — 20 minutes from our door. We're building for that moment.
CALIFORNIA HOME
350+ rowable days a year on calm, protected water. Minutes from the beach and LAX.
A dedicated coaching team supports Young athletes in reaching their potential.
